Pat Lam's Blues side got their Super 14 season off to a winning start with a 25-19 win over Western Force in Perth.

Force battled to a 14-8 half-time lead thanks to tries from prop AJ Whalley and wing Drew Mitchell, only for the Blues to pull of the day's second comeback after the Brumbies fight-back against the Highlanders in Dunedin.

Chris Lowrey crossed for their first try on 26 minutes before Justin Collins, Anthony Boric and Taniela Moa wrapped up the points for the visitors. Force replacement Tom Hockings grabbed a try in response on 57 minutes but the Blues were resolute and held on for a bonus point success.
