The Super 14 has reached round 4, and there's no let-up in terms of action.

The Chiefs and Force go head-to-head at Waikato Stadium on Friday night, with the home side still searching for their opening win of the tournament. They're up against a Force side brimming with confidence after they ended the Brumbies' unbeaten run last weekend, and fans in Hamilton will be able to see a sneak preview of the likely Tri-Nations fly-half battle.

Wallaby Matt Giteau starts for the Force alongside Josh Valentine, while Stephen Donald, Dan Carter's understudy last season, takes the No.10 shirt for the Chiefs.

On Saturday the action moves to Wellington, where the Hurricanes host the Cheetahs at Westpac Stadium. The Hurricanes showed signs of life in their win over the Crusaders last weekend, and again turn to Piri Weepu at fly-half. Ma'a Nonu and Conrad Smith continue in the centre, while the Cheetahs have been left counting the cost of their loss to the Reds last weekend.

Skipper Juan Smith has been ruled out after suffering from heat exhaustion and will be a big loss to the struggling South Africans.

Eden Park plays host to a huge game between the Blues and Sharks on Saturday, with both sides looking in decent form after wins last weekend. The Sharks kicked off their tour with a 22-15 win over the Chiefs, their third of the tournament, and boast a formidable backline for their trip to Auckland.

Rory Kockott and Ruan Pienaar start at halfback, with Francois Steyn and Adi Jacobs in the centre. Out wide there are starts for Odwa Ndungane and JP Pietersen, with Stefan Terblance at fullback.

For the Blues Jimmy Gopperth returns at fly-half alongside Taniela Moa, with their All Blacks Isaia Toeava, Anthony Tuitavake and Joe Rokocoko out wide to provide some considerable firepower.

The Crusaders face a tricky trip to face the Highlanders in Dundein, with their confidence at a low after two defeats on the bounce to the Brumbies and Hurricanes. The Highlanders have been unlucky not to register a win so far this season, and will be heartened by the return of their skipper and All Blacks scrum-half Jimmy Cowan. He starts alongside Dan Bowden at half-back.

Crusaders boss Todd Blackadder is without Casey Laulala with Adam Whitelock starting at No.13. Colin Slade starts at fly-half with Stephen Brett again at fullback.

Saturday's action rounds off in Pretoria, with the Bulls hosting the Stormers. The Bulls have set the pace for the tournament so far and will be eyeing their fourth win against the Stormers at Loftus Versfeld.

Danie Rossouw continues in the second-row in the absence of Victor Matfield, with the hugely impressive Pierre Spies retaining his place at No.8. Fourie Du Preez again partners Morne Steyn at half-back.

35-year-old AJ Venter starts in the second-row for the Stormers, who include South Africa internationals Luke Watson and Schalk Burger in their back-row. Ricky Januarie and Peter Grant are at halfback.
