Roddick sets up Isner semi-final

Andy Roddick gave his US Open preparations a boost as he continues to play his way into form, beating Juan Monaco to reach the semi-finals of the Winston-Salem Open.
Roddick, who has been struggling with an abdominal strain, began to make up for lost time with a 6-1 6-4 win over Monaco, firing nine aces in the process.
The American, who is yet to face a break point in three matches in North Carolina, overwhelmed his opponent, sweeping through the opening set before securing victory with a late break in the second.
The 2003 US Open champion set up a mouthwatering clash against fellow American John Isner, who had to battle from a set down to beat Marcos Baghdatis 1-6 6-3 6-4.
Isner has only beaten Roddick once in four career meetings, with Roddick winning their most recent encounter at Indian Wells in March.
Tenth seed Robin Haase cruised into the final four with a 6-4 6-4 win over Ukraine's Alexandr Dolgopolov. The Dutchman took exactly one hour to dispatch his third-seeded opponent and faced just two break points during the contest.
Dolgopolov, for his part, launched 15 aces in the match but was unable to make an impact on Haase's service game. Qualifier Julien Bennetteau will now take on Haase for the right to play in the final, after the Frenchman downed Sergiy Stakhovsky 3-6 7-6(9) 6-2.
