World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is aiming for further success after enjoying a year brimming with accomplishments.

The Serbian capped a stellar 2011 - in which he won three grand slam titles and has lost just two of his 66 matches overall - by defeating defending champion Rafael Nadal in the US Open final on Monday. However, Djokovic says he is not content to reflect on past glories as he looks to embark on the next phase of his career.

"There is a lot more to prove, a lot more tournaments to win," he said.

"Maybe this is my year. Roger had a couple of years where he was winning two or three slams. Rafa had that last year. God knows what's going to be next year. This is going to be extremely hard to repeat, that's for sure.''

Djokovic won the decider at Flushing Meadows in four sets after overcoming a back complaint midway through the match. The 24-year-old called for medical attention after dropping the third set, but was swiftly back on track to claim the historic victory.

"To be honest, there was doubts in my mind after the third set. Physically I wasn't there. I wasn't fresh," he explained.

Meanwhile, Djokovic says he will take time now to pursue another passion of his outside of tennis; acting.

"I just think show business is something that attracts me, that I really like watching, that I like being a part of. It's part of my personality.

"This the way I see things off the court...if I embrace them, if I accept them as something that can give me energy, that can make me happy, then it all goes in a positive direction. I will not interfere that with my professional life," he said.
