Andy Murray has told his Great Britain side that they are capable of achieving promotion from Europe/Africa Zone I, ahead of Wednesday's Davis Cup draw in Bangkok.

Britain are back rubbing shoulders with the second-tier nations of the Davis Cup after earning promotion with a convincing victory over Hungary. Murray won both his singles rubbers in a 5-0 whitewash.

Britain are not seeded for Wednesday's draw, meaning they could be drawn against Israel - ranked 10th in the Davis Cup rankings (Britain are 43rd). Other seeds include South Africa, Romania and Belgium.

However, Murray and Co will be hoping to avoid the seeds, instead facing a fellow unseeded nation. Options include Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovak Republic and Slovenia, the toughest of which on paper are the Dutch.

There is also the possibility of a bye, given that 11 teams make up Europe/Africa Zone I.

Regardless of the opposition, Murray is realistic about Britain's chances, insisting they will have to play very well in order to achieve back-to-back promotions. However, he does believe his colleagues are capable, having won their last four Davis Cup ties under captain Leon Smith.

"There's matches we'd go into maybe even as favourites in Group I and there's some we'd go into as underdogs but I think that's our level right now, realistically," Murray said.

"It's not like the matches are going to be easy and we can just get through. There'll be matches we'll need to play very well to win. I think we can get into the World Group, but it'll be really tough and it depends a bit on the draw as well, home ties, surfaces and so on."
