Gael Monfils kept his hopes of reaching the ATP World Tour Finals alive with victory over Kevin Anderson in the quarter finals of the Stockholm Open.

The Frenchman is currently 15th in the race for a place in the eight-man field in London, but can pick up valuable points with victory in Stockholm and he kept his hopes alive by digging in to beat big-serving Anderson 7-5 7-5.

"I think Kevin played good. I have to give him credit," Monfils said. "He was going for his shots more and was very loose. It was tough for me. Maybe I dropped a little in concentration but he played good at that time."

Monfils will face Milos Raonic in the semi-finals after the No. 6 seed beat Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 7-5 6-4.

Jarkko Nieminen battled to a 3-6 7-5 6-1 victory over Tobias Kamke and will face James Blake in the semi-finals after the American was given a walkover against David Nalbandian who pulled out with a hamstring strain.

Top seed Janko Tipsarevic eased into the sem-finals of the Kremlin Cup with a comfortable 6-4 6-2 win over Dmitry Tursunov.

Nikolay Davydenko has endured a poor campaign, but he could well finish the season on a high as the No. 4 seed thrilled his home fans with a 6-3 6-2 win over Michael Berrer and will face Tipsarevic in the semi-finals.

The No. 2 seed Victor Troicki got the better of Alex Bogomolov Jnr in a battle of the tiebreaks, winning 7-6(6) 6-7(1) 7-6(1). He will meet Jeremy Chardy in the last four after the Frenchman edged out Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-4 6-3.
