Clijsters positive about fitness

Kim Clijsters is confident about shrugging off a hip complaint in order to mount a defence of her Australian Open crown.
Clijsters has had a torrid time with injuries since winning the Australian Open title last year and her problems reared their head again when she pulled out of the Brisbane International at the semi-final stage.
AN MRI scan has revealed the cause of her hip problem was nothing more sinister than a muscle spasm which, with treatment, is expected to clear up in time for the Melbourne showpiece which begins on January 16.
"With this one I kind of have an okay feeling," Clijsters said. "If everything comes out okay it should take a little [less than] a week to get completely healed.
"I felt my left hip was getting tighter and tighter to the point I couldn't move forward with my upper body.
"The smartest choice was not to let it get any worse and try to be right for Melbourne."
