Britain's Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins opened their Australian Open campaign with victory to reach the second round of the men's doubles.

The pair beat American duo Ryan Harrison and Ryan Sweeting to set up a second-round clash with Russians Alex Bogomolov Jr and Igor Kunitsyn.

Harrison, who lost his first-round singles match against Andy Murray on Tuesday, once again came up short against British opponents as he and Sweeting went down 7-5 7-6(2).

Following her singles defeat to Jelena Jankovic on Monday, Laura Robson teamed up with fellow former Wimbledon girls' champion Ashley Barty, but the pair were beaten by Dominika Cibulkova and Jill Craybas. Robson and her Australian partner won the first set, but were unable to sustain their challenge as they fell 3-6 6-2 6-2.

Jamie Delgado and Jonathan Marray were unable to join Fleming and Hutchins in the second round after they fell 6-4 6-4 to Polish sixth seeds Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski.
