Viktor Troicki disappointed the home crowd in Rotterdam by taking out Dutch wild card Thiemo de Bakker 7-6(6) 6-0 in the first round of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.

Troicki is seeded seven for the event and he was given an ideal test, being pushed hard in the opening set before upping his level and powering through. The Serb was strong on serve, as he won 37 of 49 service points.

Philipp Kohlschreiber caused a shock by taking out the No. 8 seed Marcel Granollers 6-1 1-6 6-4.

Jarkko Nieminen was made to dig in before battling past Dutch wild card Igor Sijsling 6-1 6-7(7) 7-5, while Andreas Seppi took out South African qualifier Rik de Voest 1-6 7-6(5) 6-2.
