Andy Murray will begin his BNP Paribas Open campaign with a second-round clash against Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

Garcia-Lopez, the world No. 92, had a gruelling contest against Rui Machado on Thursday, eventually triumphing 7-6(6) 4-6 6-2 after two hours and 36 minutes on court.

Murray has won both of his previous meetings against Garcia-Lopez: most recently at the Australian Open in 2011, when the Scot cruised to a 6-1 6-1 6-2 triumph.

The British No. 1 will be back on court for the first time since losing in the final of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship to Roger Federer last week. Earlier in the tournament, Murray had beaten Novak Djokovic - and the pair are on course to meet again at the BNP Paribas Open.

Last year, Murray surprisingly fell to Donald Young at the second-round stage.
