Radwanska sisters rule in Brussels

World No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska lived up to her No. 1 seeding at the Brussels Open, dropping one game in Wednesday's second-round match before watching her youngster sister beat her main rival for the title.

Radwanska is only behind Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova in the world rankings, and is expected to triumph at this week's Brussels tournament. Lesia Tsurenko lasted less than an hour against the Polish talent, losing 6-1 6-0.

Five breaks of serve got the job done for Radwanska, who dropped seven points on serve in the contest.

Her 'favourite' tag grew even stronger when No. 2 seed Marion Bartoli was beaten later in the day. Bartoli was stunned 6-4 6-2 by Urszula Radwanska, the younger sister of Agnieszka.

Elsewhere, Nadia Petrova was another big faller. The tenth seed was broken three times as she lost 6-3 6-2 to Tsvetana Pironkova.

Eighth seed Kaia Kanepi remains a contender for this week's title after she swept aside Bojana Jovanovski 6-2 6-2. There were also notable wins for fourth seed Dominika Cibulkova, Simona Halep and Sofia Arvidsson.

Meanwhile at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone advanced from the second round with an easy victory over qualifier Mirjana Lucic. There were also wins for Anabel Medina Garrigues, Ayumi Morita and Sloane Stephens.
