The Radwanska dream final at the Brussels Open will not happen, as Urszula fell at the quarter-final stage but her sister and No. 1 seed Agnieszka marched on.

Urszula has impressed in Belgium after coming through qualifying but she found Sofia Arvidsson too big an obstacle to overcome. Radwanska raced into a 3-0 lead on the back of two breaks of serve, but Arvidsson hit back to edge the opening set and she showed her class in the second set to claim a 7-5 6-4 win.

Agnieszka remains on course for her third title of the season after blitzing Alison van Uytvanck 6-2 6-1 and her reward is a semi-final clash with Kaia Kanepi who eased to a 6-3 6-1 win over Tsvetana Pironkova.

At the Internationaux de Strasbourg, Francesca Schiavone trounced Johanna Larsson 6-0 6-3, while Alize Cornet beat Anabel Medina Garrigues in two tiebreak sets and Sloane Stephens proved too good for Ayumi Morita.
