Francesca Schiavone gave a timely reminder of her talents ahead of the French Open with victory in the final of the Strasbourg International.

The Italian, who won at Roland Garros in 2010, defeated wildcard Alize Cornet 6-4 6-4 in one hour and 43 minutes.

Second seed Schiavone helped herself to five breaks in all, three in the first set, as she got away with a first-serve percentage of just 49%.

Meanwhile at the Brussels Open, world No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska claimed her third title of the year by beating Simona Halep 7-5 6-0.

Radwanska's 46-place cushion in the world rankings was not apparent in the opening stanza, but it very much was in the second as Halep surrendered three breaks and never threatened her opponent's serve.
