Murray: Djokovic on cusp of 'unbelievable' feat

Novak Djokovic can complete one of the greatest feats in the history of men's tennis if he seals a career Grand Slam at the French Open, according to British No. 1 Andy Murray.

Djokovic kicks off his campaign at Roland Garros on Monday, meeting Potito Starace on Court Phillippe Chatrier. Murray, meanwhile, will not begin his bid for a maiden slam until Tuesday.

Victory for Djokovic over the next two weeks would not only mean that he has won all four of the grand slams, but he will also hold the quartet of titles all at the same time. For Murray, that would be an achievement to rival any other.

"It would definitely be up there," Murray said. "There's a lot of records guys have had in streaks.

"Guys have had incredibly impressive [streaks] and [they are] very, very difficult things to do. But if he was able to do it, which I hope he's not, it would be an unbelievable effort."

The world No. 1 is not the favourite to triumph in France, though, with defending champion Rafael Nadal looking for his seventh French Open crown. Like Murray, Nadal starts his campaign on Tuesday, and the Brit believes the King of Clay could win several more Roland Garros titles before he retires.

"I think the fact that he started at such a young age is what's most impressive," Murray said. "He won it when he had just turned 19.

"It's obviously still going as well. So I'm sure he'll have more great runs here, I'm sure he'll win the event a few more times probably before he finishes."
