Murray full of praise for 'killer' Ferrer

Andy Murray is steeling himself for an aggressive early assault from David Ferrer in his French Open quarter-final clash on Wednesday.

Sixth seed Ferrer has been one of the most impressive players thus far at Roland Garros, with his third-round demolition of Mikhail Youzhny particularly eye-catching.

Ferrer's attacking approach has been notable throughout the tournament and, having never beaten him on clay, Murray is expecting a significant test from a player who he believes is underrated.

"I don't think he gets the credit he deserves," Murray said. "People think he's just a workhorse. He does work hard but he has many ways of hurting guys on the court.

"He's been in the top five or six players in the world for the last three or four years. David's consistent, has a great game and has improved his serve over the last few years.

"He's physically strong as well. Over five-set matches, he's hard to break down. He's a killer on the court. If you look at his results this week, they would suggest so.

"David doesn't like being out longer than he needs to, he'll go for the kill."
