Murray ready to lean on Lendl

Andy Murray has downplayed criticism of the part-time nature of his coaching relationship with Ivan Lendl as he puts the disappointment of his French Open quarter-final exit behind him.

Lendl's frequent absences from Murray's entourage during the first half of the season have raised questions about his suitability as the man to guide the world No. 4 to his first Grand Slam title.

But Murray is confident that the partnership is set to come into its own as Lendl joins him for his Wimbledon, Olympic and US Open campaigns.

The eight-time Grand Slam champion will be a permanent fixture alongside Murray between now and September, a stretch that the Scot believes will strengthen their relationship.

"The more time we spend with each other, the better he'll understand me and my game," Murray said. "I will know the right questions to ask him before big matches and tournaments.

"I am still learning a lot from him and hopefully that will be the case leading up to Wimbledon."

Murray has struggled with a back injury since December and has been reluctant to commit himself to next week's AEGON Championships at Queen's Club, where he is the defending champion.
