Eight British players and a former champion have been awarded wildcards for Wimbledon later this month.

Lleyton Hewitt, a winner at the All England Club ten years ago, has slipped to No. 205 in the world rankings after a string of injury setbacks. On the comeback trail from foot surgery, the former world No. 1 is in action at the AEGON Championships at Queen's Club this week.

He will be joined in the men's draw at SW19 by British No. 2 James Ward, Oliver Golding, Jamie Baker and Josh Goodall, who complete the British contingent led by world No. 4 Andy Murray.

Belgium's David Goffin has been rewarded for his stunning run to the fourth round at the French Open with a wildcard alongside Germany's Tommy Haas, with one additional spot to be announced.

In the women's draw, British trio Heather Watson, Laura Robson and Naomi Broady as well as Australian-born Johanna Konta have been awarded wildcards alongside surprise Roland Garros quarter-finalist Yaroslava Shvedova and Virginie Razzano, with two more to be announced.
