Andy Roddick's hopes of finding form in time for Wimbledon hit a setback after the former world No. 1 was dumped out of the AEGON Championships by Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

A four-time champion at The Queen's Club, Roddick squandered match point before succumbing to a 6-4 4-6 7-5 defeat in their second round contest.

Roddick rallied after dropping the opening set, but wilted in the closing stages as he allowed the Frenchman back into the match - a double fault handing his opponent three break points. Roger-Vasselin will now face either David Nalbandian or Ruben Bemelmans in the next round.

Jamie Baker's Queen's campaign came to an end at the hands of world No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Following Andy Murray's shock defeat to Nicolas Mahut, Tsonga is the highest-ranked player left in the draw following a 6-3 6-2 victory.

Baker, who saw off fellow Brit Oliver Golding in his first round match, battled valiantly but was helpless to prevent the No. 2 seed from sealing his place in the third round. The Scot, who is set to break into the world's top 200 for the first time following his win over Golding, started brightly against the Frenchman, and it was not until the eighth game that Tsonga was able to find a breakthrough.

A comfortable service hold saw Tsonga wrap up the opening set, and he tightened his grip on the match with a break of serve in the fourth game, and although Baker refused to lie down, the damage had already been done as Tsonga saw out the victory to set up a last 16 clash with Ivan Dodig, who beat Go Soeda 6-3 7-6(3).

Gilles Simon was another seed to tumble on Wednesday as he went down 4-6 6-3 7-6(2) to Simone Bolelli, while Ivo Karlovic, who beat Lleyton Hewitt on Tuesday, bowed out with a 6-7(3) 7-6(6) 7-6(7) defeat to Lu Yen-Hsun.

Third seed Janko Tipsarevic progressed with a 6-1 7-6(2) win over American lucky loser Ryan Sweeting, while 2010 champion Sam Querrey defeated 12th seed Denis Istomin.

David Nalbandian saw off Belgian qualifier Ruben Bemelmans 6-4 7-2, but Marcos Baghdatis and Alex Bogomolov Jr lost to Lukas Rosol and Xavier Malisse respectively.

Fifth seed Feliciano Lopez saw off Steve Darcis 6-3 3-6 7-5, while Marin Cilic beat Australian Matthew Ebden 6-2 6-1.

Meanwhile at the Gerry Weber Open in Germany, Milos Raonic thrashed Ze Zhang 6-1 6-1 to set up a possible quarter-final against five-time champion Roger Federer, who faces Florian Mayer on Thursday. Mikhail Youzhny knocked out fourth seed Alexander Dolgopolov 6-4 3-6 6-4.

Third-seed Tomas Berdych kicked off his grass-court season with a comfortable 6-3 6-2 win over Viktor Troicki.
