Murray hits back at 'faker' critics

Following his shock exit from the AEGON Championships at Queen's Andy Murray has hit back at criticism from Tommy Haas, who claimed the Scot makes a meal out of his injuries.

Former world No. 2 Haas claimed Murray uses his trainer tactically during matches by exaggerating the extent of physical problems, but Murray has responded by saying the German's opinion matters little to him.

"All the time I have been on tour I've been called many, many things, from my personality not being exciting enough to boring. It was said I was unfit, lazy, I fake injuries. I mean, all sorts," said Murray in the Sun.

"It's something that goes hand in hand with playing sport. People criticise you regularly.

"So it's something you need to just deal with. But I don't care for Haas' opinion. If he thinks that, good for him."

In the wake of his second round exit at the hands of Nicolas Mahut, Murray gave short shrift to suggestions his preparations for Wimbledon were not on course.
