Andy Murray prefers to look at the case of LeBron James, rather than Tim Henman, when assessing his chances of achieving a life's dream by winning Wimbledon this week.

Murray secured a fourth consecutive semi-final at SW19 with victory over David Ferrer on Wednesday. He now meets Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, looking to book his first Wimbledon final.

Like Henman, Murray has carried the hopes of a nation for several years, and has had to deal with the pressure and pain of disappointing his public. However, the British No. 1 prefers to look at the case of American basketball star James, who finally ended his NBA Championship hunt with Miami Heat over the summer.

"There were a lot of people who said LeBron would never win," Murray said. "That he never played his best in finals and that in the fourth quarter of games, he never stepped up.

"Then you see how he played the whole of the Finals, the whole of the play-offs. Sometimes it takes some guys a bit longer than others. I've been close a lot of times and not quite made it. I have to keep putting myself in the position and hopefully it will click."

Murray has been to three grand slam finals, but never at Wimbledon. With Rafael Nadal out of his side of the draw, this year is viewed as Murray's greatest chance to break his duck, not that the Brit agrees.

"The goal now is to win the next match and try and get through to the final for the first time," he said. "I've had a good run here the last few years, but I'm not satisfied with that. I want to try to go further.

"I don't know if it is my best chance. I think when I played Andy Roddick in the semis [2009] was also a good chance. I'm in a good position, that's for sure. But I've been in this position a few times now and want to push on."
