Davis Cup player to be questioned by police

British No. 7 Dan Evans is to be questioned by police in connection with an alleged sexual assault.

Evans, who lost the deciding rubber in Britain's Davis Cup defeat in Lithuania last month, was identified as one of the three men in a photo issued by police.

Detectives are investigating a complaint that a woman was assaulted in the street after she left Club XL nightclub in Bath in the early hours of March 19.

Avon and Somerset police published a photograph of three men as part of an appeal for more information, and police confirmed the three men have since been identified.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said: "We issued a picture in order to identify three men who we thought could help police with their inquiries following reports of a sexual assault. We have now identified the men in the picture and are currently making arrangements to speak with them in due course."
