Radwanska squanders chance of moving top

Agnieszka Radwanska had her shot at becoming world No. 1 dashed at the Montreal Cup on Saturday evening.
Needing to win the tournament to unseat the injured Victoria Azarenka at the top of the rankings, Radwanska was crushed 6-2 6-1 by Li Na in the quarter-finals. Na required just 70 minutes to record the victory as she dominated from the outset, breaking Radwanska's serve on five occasions.
Na played a solid opening set, limiting her errors from the baseline before stepping up in the second set. The former French Open champion surrendered a mere 11 points in the second to march into the semi-finals.
Heavy rain delayed play on Friday, causing third round matches to be played on Saturday morning. World No. 3 Radwanska cruised past Chanelle Scheepers in their third-round encounter, while Na defeated eighth seed Sara Errani in straight sets.
Na will now take on Lucie Safarova, who needed less than an hour to breeze by Roberta Vinci in the quarter-finals. Vinci appeared to be hitting her straps, upsetting sixth seed Angelique Kerber earlier in the day, but was unable to carry her form on.
Petra Kvitova also progressed to the semi-finals with ease, beating Tamira Paszek 6-3 6-2. She will face Caroline Wozniacki next, following the former world No. 1's 6-4 6-4 triumph over wildcard Aleksandra Wozniak in the final match of a busy Saturday schedule
