Caroline Wozniacki eased into the third round of the Korea Open with a straight-sets win over Caroline Garcia.

The former world No. 1 has had a torrid year, with a dip in form seeing her topple down the rankings. She is now down at No. 11 and having crashed out of Wimbledon and the US Open in the first round, she is looking to end the season on a high.

She found some form with a win over Arantxa Rus in the first round and she backed that up with a 6-2 6-3 win over Garcia.

The serve has been a problem for Wozniacki this season but she looked more assured on her delivery as she powered down four aces. She dropped her serve just once and this enabled her to break down her opponent from the back of the court.

Klara Zakopalova is next up for Wozniacki after she ran out a 6-1 7-6(8) winner over Magdalena Rybarikova

The sixth seed Varvara Lepchenko crushed Anabel Medina Garrigues 6-4 6-1 and Tamira Paszek beat Lee So-ra 6-2 6-0.

Ekaterina Makarova fended off a stiff challenge from Jamie Hampton to progress with a 6-3 7-5 win.
