Heather Watson teed-up a clash with Sabine Lisicki when battling through qualifying for the Pan Pacific Open.

On a day when the new British No. 1 Laura Robson was being beaten in the final of the Guangzhou Open, Watson was working through qualifying.

The trip to Tokyo paid off for Watson, as she came through two matches to reach the main draw. After beating Lara Arrubarrena-Vecino, the Brit produced a superb effort to take out Andrea Hlavackova 5-7 6-3 6-2.

Watson's reward is a clash with Germany's Lisicki, while she is one match away from a clash with Maria Sharapova.

Andy Murray's brother Jamie is in action in singles qualifying in the Thailand Open and he beat Kelsey Stevenson to set up a clash with Kevin Anderson in the final round of qualifying.
