Djokovic beats Berlocq in Beijing

Novak Djokovic survived a late wobble to move into the China Open quarter-finals with a straight sets victory over Carlos Berlocq in Beijing.
Playing in his first tournament since his US Open final defeat to Andy Murray, Djokovic looked to be on course for an emphatic win, but struggled to close out the match before sealing a 6-1 6-3 victory.
The world No. 2, who was unconvincing in his opener as he was taken to three sets by Michael Berrer, was in no mood to hang around as he raced through the opening set.
After being broken in his opening service game, Berlocq got on the scoreboard at 3-1, but he was unable to find a way back into the set as Djokovic sealed the opener with an ace.
Djokovic looked set to inflict a second-set bagel on Berlocq as he served for the match at 5-0, but the top seed suffered a wobble - twice allowing his opponent to break back before recovering to wrap up victory in an hour and 14 minutes.
The Serb will face Jurgen Melzer in his next match after the Austrian won a topsy-turvy encounter against Alexandr Dolgopolov 7-6(9) 2-6 6-1.
