Novak Djokovic breezed into the final of the China Open with a 6-1 6-4 win over Florian Mayer.

The world No. 2 has been feeling his way into form, ahead of the Shanghai Masters, and after brushing aside Jurgen Melzer in the quarter-finals he was even more impressive against Mayer.

Djokovic was in blistering form on serve. Mayer had just two looks at break points in the match, failing to convert either, and it all served to build up pressure. And Djokovic was entirely clinical, as he broke through on each of the three break points he looked at.

Mayer upped his game in the second set, but he could not make any impression on the Djokovic serve as the Serb eased to a 6-1 6-4 win.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga moved closer to booking his place in the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals by powering into the China Open final.

Tsonga was 6-1 4-1 ahead when Feliciano Lopez was forced to retire on account of a wrist injury.

"I played really well," Tsonga said after booking his place in his third final of the year. "I felt really good on the court. I'm just happy today with my game. I'm sure I will play good tennis in final."
