Del Potro breezes past Baker

Juan Martin Del Potro produced a clinical performance at the Swiss Indoors to take care of Brian Baker in straight sets.

In the first meeting between the players, world No. 8 Del Potro needed 78 minutes to reel off a 7-5 6-1 triumph second-round in Basel.

Del Potro, who won in Vienna last week, did not have to save a single break point as his fearsome service game held firm.

Elsewhere in Switzerland, Benoit Paire sank Lukasz Kubot 6-4 6-4 to set up a clash with Roger Federer in the third round.

At the Valencia Open, top seed David Ferrer continued his smooth progress through the rounds, beating Albert Ramos 6-4 6-2.
