Murray remaining focused in spite of Djokovic setback

Andy Murray is refusing to dwell on defeat to Novak Djokovic as he continues his battle to qualify for the semi-finals at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Murray's 4-6 6-3 7-5 defeat leaves the Scot with one win and a loss from his opening two matches in Group A, with a final round-robin clash against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to come on Friday.

The Scot, who battled back from a break down in the third set only to be broken by Djokovic in the final stages of the match, insists he will not let himself be distracted by potentially complicated scenarios and calculations regarding who reaches the last four.

"You'd have to play the match and try and win regardless of what situation either of us are in," Murray said. "I just try and win the match. As professional sportsmen we should be able to deal with all those sorts of situations, be able to focus and concentrate regardless of the situation."

Murray's defeat to Djokovic was the seventh time the pair have played this season, and after their last two encounters - Murray's epic five-set victory in the US Open final and more recently Djokovic's win in Shanghai - the Serb admitted he was primed for a marathon.

"I didn't expect anything less than a tough match that went down the wire and was decided in the last point," Djokovic said. "It's something I always have in the back of my mind when I get to play Andy, it's going to be a physically very demanding match on any surface.

"I needed to work for my points. I needed to earn them."
