Novak Djokovic admits he is looking forward to a well-deserved holiday following his victory at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Djokovic demonstrated why he will finish the season as world No. 1 for a second successive year, beating Roger Federer in the final at the O2 Arena.

The Serb, who will now head to South America to play an exhibition match against three-time French Open champion Gustavo Kuerten in Brazil, says the off-season is a crucial part of his preparations for next season.

"For two and a half weeks I will be in a very tropical, very beautiful place with no racket, just trying to recharge my batteries," Djokovic said.

"My goals, ambitions, expectations for myself are always very high. But I'm aware that rest is very much needed at this moment, and it's crucial for me to try to take some time off because the season is very long, it's very draining emotionally also. I'm sure I'm going to be fit for Australia."
