Serena to face Larsson in final
Serena Williams will take on home favourite Johanna Larsson in the final of the Swedish Open after the world No. 1 overcame third seed Klara Zakopalova in the last-four.
Williams - who was surprisingly knocked out of Wimbledon in the fourth round by Sabine Lisicki after being the clear favourite to triumph - remains on course to lift a seventh title of the season.
The American powered her way to the opening set 6-0, winning 70% of the 40 points on offer.
However, Williams faced some resistance in the second set as her Czech opponent began to find her feet.
Zakopalova broke Williams twice to force the issue, but Williams won the battle of the breaks as she went one better with three to edge the second set 6-4.
In the semi-final before, Larsson came from a set down to knock out Flavia Penetta 2-6 6-3 6-4 in an hour and 44 minutes.
