Marin Cilic investigated over 'failed drugs test'

Tennis is facing a second doping story in a week after widespread reports that world No. 15 Marin Cilic is under investigation after testing positive at the Munich Open three months ago. The news comes days after Viktor Troicki was given an 18-month ban for violating the sport's anti-doping regulations.

The Slobodna Dalmacija quoted "reliable sources" as saying Cilic failed a test in April, two weeks after passing a doping control test at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Jutarnji List daily quoted Cilic's manager Vincent Stavaux as saying: "There are no comments until we will be able to comment." The newspaper added that the failed test was as a result of an "incautious use of glucose".

It is believed Cilic was informed of the test results during Wimbledon, where he pulled out of his second-round match against Kenny de Schepper.

The International Tennis Federation has refused to comment.
