Dimitrov coping with Sharapova relationship talk
Grigor Dimitrov has been making more headlines for his relationship with Maria Sharapova than his tennis - but the Bulgarian says it is something which is a part of the game.
The talented 22-year-old starting dating Sharapova earlier in the year, and there has been plenty of coverage of the pair off-court.
Speaking in Washington, Dimitrov revealed his relationship with the Russian was always going to be one that would get everyone talking.
"Of course, there is a lot of talk off the court, and in the end, I think that's part of the game," Dimitrov told Tennis Grandstand. "In England [during Wimbledon], in general, there were a lot of these questions. But what can I do?"
Dimitrov has impressed in 2013, reflected in his rise in the rankings after breaking into the world's top 30 a couple of months ago by reaching a career-high of 26.
His best display came at the Madrid Masters when he superbly took out world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, and it is that victory which he admits is his most memorable moment on court, just ahead of his loss to Rafael Nadal in a three-set thriller in the last-eight at Monte Carlo.
"I think definitely there are many, and one of them was when I played Novak Djokovic this year. I think that's one of the most memorable matches for me. Of course, can't forget the match against Rafa [Nadal]. I'm trying to make every moment to stay with me and keep it in a special way," he said.
