Murray upbeat about French Open after Ferrer loss

Andy Murray was in a positive mood after putting in his best clay performance of the year against David Ferrer in a narrow 7-5 6-3 loss in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Masters.
Murray said he had the French Open firmly in his sights after giving the clay surface's best exponent in 2010 a tougher test than he expected to on Friday. Ferrer has won more matches on clay than any other player this year, so Murray was far from upset at succumbing to the Spaniard, instead expressing his pleasure at getting his "intensity back".
"I thought there was some very good tennis in there," Murray said after the match. "I felt like it was a very good match and it was definitely the best standard I've played on the clay so far (this year). It's been a positive week.
Murray said keeping a positive mindset on the court was one aspect he could work on ahead of the Roland Garros major, which starts on May 23.
"I was very close to winning tonight but that's something I can improve, just maintaining a bit more calm in my game at important moments," he said. "Going into the French (Open) I'll definitely feel a lot better than I did a few weeks ago. I've got my intensity back. My mind's where it needs to be on the court and there's no reason why I can't do well there."
While satisfied with his performance, Murray admitted he was completely happy with the result, insisting it could have gone his way on another day.
"Sometimes you lose matches when you play well and it's not a match I was necessarily expected to win tonight. I don't say it very often but I felt like I was a little bit unlucky."
