Hewitt draws Australia level

Lleyton Hewitt beat John Isner in straight sets to draw Australia level with the United States on the opening day of the ARAG World Team Cup in Dusseldorf.
Sam Querrey put the Americans ahead in the in the opening tie of the Red Group by beating Peter Luczak 6-7(4) 7-6(3) 6-3, but former world No. 1 Hewitt outplayed the big-serving Isner 6-2 6-4 to even the scores ahead of Monday's winner-takes-all doubles match.
France and Germany are also level at 1-1 after the first day of their Red Group clash. Jeremy Chardy got France off to the perfect start with a 6-2 6-4 win over Philipp Kohlschreiber, but Andreas Beck dragged his country back into contention with a 7-6(1) 6-6(4) 6-4 win over Paul-Henri Mathieu.
Elsewhere, the Czech Republic's Jan Hajek overcame Spain's Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-2 6-2 in the Red Group, and Argentina's Horacio Zeballos beat Serbia's Filip Krajinovic 6-1 6-4 in the Blue Group to hand their respective nation's the advantage heading into the tournament's second day.
