Kohlschreiber boosts Germany hopes

Philipp Kohlschreiber handed Germany a boost after their defeat to France with victory in the first rubber of their meeting with Argentina in the ARAG ATP World Team Championship.
Expectation is high in Germany that the hosts can do well in Dussseldorf and Kohlschreiber handed them some momentum with a 6-3 6-4 win over Horacio Zeballos.
"I am really happy that I got this victory," Kohlschreiber said. "My opponent made it difficult for me, so I'm really relieved."
Czech Republic had an excellent win over Spain in their opener in the Red Group and Jan Hajek carried the form into the game with Australia - as he rolled over Peter Luczak 6-1 6-2.
France made a great start to their game with Serbia, Paul-Henri Mathieu beating Dusan Lazovic 6-2 6-2. But Viktor Troicki levelled the tie at 1-1 thanks to a 6-4 6-2 win over Jeremy Chardy.
Robby Ginepri was drafted in as a late replacement for the injured John Isner, but he was unable to get USA off to a winning start against Spain as Nicolas Almagro claimed a 6-3 5-6 7-6(4) win.
Sam Querrey put USA's tie with Spain firmly in the melting pot thanks to a 6-3 6-4 win over Daniel Gimeno-Traver.
At the Open de Nice, Marcos Baghdatis beat Laurent Recouderc 6-4 7-5, but clay specialist Albert Montanes was beaten 6-3 7-5 by Alexandr Dolgopolov.
Richard Gasquet is bidding to get his career back on track and recorded a 6-3 6-0 win over Lukas Lacko.
