Andy Murray will be forced to return to the court on Thursday after bad light ended his second round match against Juan Ignacio Chela.
Murray holds the advantage after winning the opening set 6-2 when play was suspended with the scores at 3-3 in the second set. Murray had taken an early break in the second, but was broken back by a defiant Chela who refused to lie down.
After the day's play was frequently disrupted by heavy showers, the players only came on court at 8pm local time, and only managed an hour and 20 minutes before an official called time on the match.
After a gruelling five-set victory over Richard Gasquet on Monday, when Murray produced an impressive comeback from two sets and a break down, Murray showed no signs of fatigue as he raced to an early lead.
After a slow start against Gasquet, Murray wasted no time in taking an early advantage, and Chela had no response to Murray's wide array of shots as he peppered the baseline, drawing his opponent into the net with a drop shot before flashing passing shot down the line.
Play will resume on Court 1, not before 12.30 local time, and it will be a blow to Murray, who will lose what would have been a rest day should he progress to round three.
