Williams continues perfect streak over Radwanska
Serena Williams continued her perfect run against Agnieszka Radwanska with a 6-2 6-4 win at the WTA Championships in Istanbul on Wednesday.
Williams enjoyed her eighth win in eight meetings against Radwanska, storming into a 6-2 3-1 lead before her opponent levelled to 4-4 in the second set.
However, the world No. 1 quickly responded and closed out victory ahead of her final round robin match against Petra Kvitova on Thursday.
"It wasn't wasy - it's the end of the year and I'm a little tired, so I really had to fight in that second set to stay up mentally," Williams said. "But I just tried to recover and I'm happy I could win."
Elsewhere, Li Na overcame Sara Errani 6-3 7-6(5) while second seed Victoria Azarenka suffered a shock 6-4 6-3 defeat to Jelena Jankovic.
