Murray fans bailed after 'gun' scare
Police arrested four men suspected of brandishing a gun at Andy Murray, only to find that they were autograph hunters holding a tennis racket.
The incident occurred last Wednesday evening in north London following a book signing for Murray's latest autobiography Seventy-Seven: My Road To Wimbledon Glory, as he was in a car with his agent.
Two men approached the car and knocked on the window to ask Murray to sign the racket before he drove off, but a member of the public thought it was a gun and contacted the police.
The men were stopped by police in west London and arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and taken into custody. They were later bailed pending further inquiry.
"A search of the car was conducted and no trace of a firearm was found," said a Scotland Yard spokesman.
Wimbledon champion Murray is currently recovering from back surgery and has not played since September.
