Novak 'exhausted' ahead of Davis Cup final

Novak Djokovic has admitted he is "exhausted" after a gruelling season ahead of this weekend's Davis Cup final.

The world No.2 retained his ATP World Tour Finals crown on Monday to extend his winning streak to 22 matches with victory over world No.1 Rafael Nadal. It was his fourth title in a row, following wins in Beijing, Shanghai and Paris.

Serbia begin their best-of-five match encounter against defending champions the Czech Republic on an indoor hard court at the Belgrade Arena on Friday. But despite his exertions this year, Djokovic says he is still raring to go.

"It's been a very long season for me and I'm exhausted in every way," Djokovic said after his London victory. "But God knows if as a country we are going to have another opportunity, another generation like this, to win a Davis Cup title at home.

"We have very tough opponents - the defending champions - but the Davis Cup is the only team competition in our sport that brings the best possible energy and will-power in me, and I speak for my team-mates, too. I'm going to do my best to recover in the next three days."

Janko Tipsarevic is an injury doubt for Serbia, putting more pressure on Djokovic. Tipsarevic is suffering with a chronic heel injury, and says he has not fully recovered. He will make a final decision before Thursday's draw.

Were Tipsarevic to drop out, Djokovic would be under pressure to win both his singles matches and team up with Nenad Zimonjic in Saturday's doubles.
