Federer not focused on ranking

Roger Federer is refusing to dwell on the prospect of losing his world No. 1 spot following his French Open quarter-final exit to Robin Soderling.
Federer missed out on a 24th consecutive Grand Slam semi-final appearance and it could get worse for the Swiss, as a French Open win for Rafael Nadal would see the Spaniard reclaim top spot in the world rankings.
Such a prospect does not seem to faze a man who has 16 Grand Slam titles to his name, as he said: "You just take the defeat as it is - you don't think of the consequences.
"I am most disappointed that I can't defend my title here. I really felt like my tennis was good enough to come here and do it again, but that was not the case."
Federer has been world No. 1 for 285 weeks and needs just one more week to move level with Pete Sampras' record.
