Anxious Murray steps up surgery recovery
Andy Murray has admitted he is feeling "rusty" as he steps up his recovery by playing competitive points for the first time since back surgery, in his bid to return in time for the Australian Open.
The Wimbledon champion is in Miami undergoing his annual training block, but with the added complication of the rehabilitation required after going under the knife in September. The Australian Open gets underway on January 13.
The 26-year-old has not played since helping Great Britain return to the elite World Group of the Davis Cup with a win over Croatia in the same month.
Murray only returned to practicing on court two weeks ago, but has now used Twitter to reveal he is taking things to the next level.
Going to try and play points today for the first time since surgery.... #rusty
