Lleyton Hewitt rolled back the years as the Australian produced a sensational display to stun Roger Federer and triumph at the Brisbane International.

The 32-year-old has struggled with injuries over the last few years, and there was talk of the former Wimbledon (2002) and US Open (2001) champion retiring from the game.

However, he was in inspired form to get the better of the record 17-time grand slam champion Federer, delighting his home support with a 6-1 4-6 6-3 victory to begin his 2014 campaign with his first trophy since he was victorious in Halle in 2010.

It only took former world No. 1 Hewitt 27 minutes to clinch the opening set, as he broke Federer three times to only drop one game. However, Federer, who has been playing solid tennis all week with a new larger racquet, hit back by maintaining his one and only break of serve,

But, Hewitt was not to be denied, as he fended off break points to take the deciding set and win the title.
