Dimitrov secures Acapulco title

Grigor Dimitrov secured the ATP Mexican Open title with a 7-6(1) 3-6 7-6(5) win over Kevin Anderson in Acapulco.

Having knocked out Andy Murray in the semi-finals, Dimitrov battled to victory over South Africa's Anderson in just a minute under three hours.

"It's been a tremendous week for me," said Dimitrov following the match. "It's been a great journey, the sun always comes out when you work hard."

The victory will see Dimitrov, 22, rise to around 16th in the world rankings.

On the women's side, Australian Open finalist Dominika Cibulkova saw off Christina McHale 7-6 (3) 4-6 6-4 to claim her fourth title.
