Laura Robson has hired experienced Colombian coach Mauricio Hadad - the man who masterminded Maria Sharapova's grand slam breakthrough at Wimbledon 10 years ago.

It's about time...

  • Mauricio Hadad's long term mentor Nick Bollettieri will be inducted to the tennis Hall of Fame this summer - and Greg Garber can't believe it's taken this long.

Robson and Hadad have spent the past few days working at an academy in Florida alongside fitness coach Mark Wellington - another member of Sharapova's team from the early years.

The world No.54 is struggling with a wrist injury and has not played a single set since Kirsten Flipkens knocked her out of the first round of the Australian Open.

But her time off has given her a chance to get to know Hadad, who also worked with Heather Watson for the two most successful years of her career, including her maiden WTA title in Osaka 18 months ago.

Robson hopes to return to action at the Sony Open in Miami later this month.
