Azarenka doubt for Roland Garros
Victoria Azarenka is a doubt for the French Open after the Belarusian confirmed she will not be competing in Madrid and Rome next month.
The world No.4 has been nursing an injury to her left foot and has not played since being beaten in the second round at Indian Wells in March.
The problem - which Azarenka sustained at the Australian Open - has already forced her to skip events in Doha and Miami. Her absence from Madrid and Rome in May have raised concerns over whether she will be fit in time for the French Open beginning on May 25.
"Unfortunately I won't be competing in Madrid and Rome this year," she posted on her Twitter account.
Just wanted to give everyone an update on my recovery. Working hard to get fit again. Will be in touch soon... https://t.co/9I1eUSx5XM
