Andy Murray believes the pressure of having to perform at Wimbledon has given him the push he needed to rediscover his best tennis.

Murray has struggled with form since reaching the Australian Open final in January, but the world No. 4 believes he is back on track and the weight of expectation to entertain the British crowds at the All England Club has given him the motivation he needs.

"Wimbledon has given me something to really focus on," Murray said. "It's good to have that pressure back. It may sound cheesy but it should be a privilege to go on court and have that pressure, be nervous and have expectation. It's something that during the last few months I might not have put on myself or maybe have not had."

Murray's 7-5 6-1 6-2 victory over Jan Hajek on Tuesday signalled a return to form for the Scot, who has an impressive record at Wimbledon, reaching the semi-finals for the first time last year.

"It's obviously a great place to play," Murray said. "I've had good results here the last few years. When you've played well in a place before, it makes you feel more comfortable when you come back. It was a good start. I feel confident."
