Roger Federer looks set to take part in the Rome Masters following the birth of his second set of twins last week.

Federer and his wife Mirka announced the arrival of twin boys, Lenny and Leo, six days ago, with the birth forcing Federer to withdraw from the Madrid Open. The Swiss pair were already parents to twin daughters.

Federer was due to make a last-minute decision on whether he was going to play at the Rome Masters, but the record 17-time Grand Slam champion has posted a series of tweets which convey his arrival to the Italian capital.

Federer, a three-time runner-up in Rome, will begin his quest for a maiden title against Jeremy Chardy. Federer's last tournament was the Monte Carlo Masters, where he reached the final and lost to fellow Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka.
