Johanna Konta eased into the second round of qualifying at the French Open after she defeated teenager Sachia Vickery in Paris.

Despite a rain delay at Roland Garros, the British No.3 enjoyed a dominant display against the American and won through 6-2 6-3.

Konta is currently ranked 102 in the world, her highest career ranking to date, and is two matches away from a first appearance in the French Open main draw.

James Ward, who enjoyed a first round qualifying victory on Tuesday, will play his second round match with Ryan Harrison on Thursday following the weather's adverse effect on play.

Further rain in the evening also caused British No.2 Heather Watson's first round tie with Irina Falconi to be postponed until Thursday. Watson, who recently returned to the world's top 100 after her ITF title win in Prague, may have to play three matches in two days if she is to make the main draw.
