Rory McIlroy confirms split from Caroline Wozniacki

Caroline Wozniacki has spoken for the first time since her break-up with golfer Rory McIlroy and claimed being a Liverpool fan will help her overcome the situation.

McIlroy announced at a press conference before the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth that he had ended his three-year relationship with Wozniacki, calling off the engagement after proposing to the Dane on New Year's Eve.

McIlroy has admitted it will be tough to focus on his game this week and was close to tears as he addressed the world's media.

But Wozniacki has taken to social media to reveal her thoughts on the break-up, using Liverpool's anthem as a source of inspiration.
