Andy Murray booked his place in the quarter finals with an imperious 7-5 6-3 6-4 win over Sam Querrey.

The Brit has come to life at Wimbledon and was simply sensational as he dismantled the giant American's serve with some sizzling groundstrokes and backed those efforts up with some impressive play on his own serve.

Murray is now the only man not to drop a set in the tournament, and looked in little danger of doing so against the American, who struggled to make any real inroads into Murray's serve.

After a shaky first service game, in which he nearly lost serve for the first time since his first-round match, Murray settled and carved out a break of his own. But serving for the set at 5-3, Murray's serve failed him and a double fault handed Querrey his chance, which the American grabbed with both hands.

Murray refused to let his head drop, and carved out another two set points, and made no mistake this time, grabbing the opening set when Querrey's forehand sailed long.

Having won his previous three meetings with Querrey, Murray oozed confidence as he continue to pile pressure on his opponent's service games. As one of the best returners in the game, the British No. 1 appeared to have the measure of the Querrey's serve, and despite the American firing 13 aces, his nine double faults proved costly.

Querrey refused to roll over, and made Murray work hard for his victory, but the world No. 4 was simply too strong as he continued his impressive form at the All England Club, setting up a quarter-final clash with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

"It was a very good match," Murray said. "I had my chances at the end of the first set. That was a huge point in the match because he had the momentum and I managed to nick it away from him and I played better after that.

"I thought my shot-making today was great, especially toward the end of the third set; I came up with some really good passing shots. I played well, I just had a few dips on the performance, but for the majority of the match it was very good."
